About the Artist
My name is Asare Bampoe-Parry, and I’m the founder of Abyss by ABP. With roots in Ghana and Haiti, I draw inspiration from these rich cultures to fuel my creativity. My journey with Abyss began during my college years, though my love for art has been lifelong. Growing up, I balanced a strong athletic commitment with a personal passion for style, which truly blossomed after high school.
Exploring fashion led me to modeling and advertising work, and through these experiences, I immersed myself in a community of creatives who inspired me to deepen my craft. Surrounded by talented friends and family, I quickly learned the fundamentals of sewing and upcycling, starting with denim. This hands-on approach gave birth to Abyss by ABP, and my brand has since grown into a platform for creative expression and meaningful entrepreneurship.
Being prosocial is a core value of mine, both in my personal life and in my business. Abyss by ABP is my way of connecting with others through art, culture, and community, a continuous journey enriched by the heritage of my Ghanaian and Haitian backgrounds.
